Publicity stunt

If readers would kindly retune their calendars to 1957, then this evening on the BBC Light Programme at 9pm you will be able to hear a repeat of ‘The Great Regent’s Park Swim’ (Series 8 Episode 4). This week’s Radio Times carries a fetching portrait of our three heroes on page 53, captioned:

“Goon Time: Nine o’clock is zero hour for the launching of another three-stage rocket”

This publicity shot was subsequently quite widely used, including on the cover of at least one Goon Show compilation.
